“I’m stamping with my Stamped Lily Kit”
Faith said these words to her mom, my friend, about a recent metal stamping craft kit she received as a gift. She was having fun creating metal jewelry and since she was doing what I do, she said it was her “Stamped Lily” Kit.
Well, as you can imagine, I LOVED this story and after I heard it I couldn’t think of anything else, wondering if this was something I should try to put together. So many ideas were swirling around and I teetered back and forth between “This is gonna be awesome” and “There’s no way I can pull this off!”
My friend Emily and I sat at her kitchen table and designed the TSL Stamp Kit that day. The pieces slowly came together as I sourced all of the products that would make their way into the kit, being as intentional with every piece as possible. I tried my best to encapsulate all of the qualities that were important to me and what I wanted young stampers to experience when they opened that box. We designed the kit with these key details in mind:
Experience – Anyone can pick up a basic metal stamping kit at a craft store or online but the TSL Stamp Kit is an “experience”. From the colors to the gift wrap packaging – it’s intentional. I added teal and gold to the packaging as a nod to the teal wallpaper that covers a wall in my shop and the kraft brown paper represents the rustic feel of the jewelry I create. When you open your kit, I want you to feel as though you’re opening a gift, embarking on a fun adventure, and maybe stepping into my shop at the same time!
Teaching – I wanted to bring you into my shop and create with you, providing instructional videos so I could teach on a more personal and relatable level! To do this, I included a QR Code that links to video tutorials for both metal stamping and jewelry assembly. I’m with you each step of the way as you stamp your metal pieces and put together your jewelry pieces.
Creativity – The TSL Stamp Kit includes materials to create a keychain and one to two necklaces but the metal stamps and metal blocks can be used forever! I want you to keep making and keep creating. This is also why I regularly release new Project Kits to accompany your TSL Stamp Kit. This keeps you stamping fun new products and keeps you gifting. I would hate for your Stamp Kit to be used once and left in a box collecting dust! I want you to actually use your kit!
Storage – As a mama, I know how frustrating it can be to open a craft kit to discover it won’t EVER go back in its original packaging. I wanted to be sure all of your stamping supplies had a simple and practical home, so the entire kit comes in a large muslin bag. In addition, I included a small tin to hold some of your smaller stamping supplies, like plates, jump rings, and work in progress projects.
Quality – The products included in the TSL Stamp Kit are products I have actually used! They aren’t miniature versions of “real” products. The metal block that comes in your kit is exactly the same one I started with, some of the plates I included are plates I still use today, the hammer available as an add-on is the same one I use every day in my workshop, and the ball chain I’ve included is the same ball chain used on the stamped key necklaces available in my shop.
Gifting – This is probably one of the most important elements of the TSL Stamp Kit. The Stamped Lily business began with a gift. In 2015, I created a necklace for my friend during a difficult time in her life. It was my hope that the hand stamped metal necklace would bring a smile to her face and offer her some encouragement, while reminding her that she was loved and cared for.
Since this was an integral part of The Stamped Lily beginnings, as well as the heart behind my business today, I needed to include a gift card and a gift bag in the TSL Stamp Kit. I hope it encourages you to give one of your handmade designs to someone special. The tagline “Sharing the Art of Giving” was also adopted. Fun Fact: The tagline was imagined by my friend Sarah, who was the recipient of that first necklace in 2015. How cool is that?
This can be felt throughout the TSL Stamp Kit as well as the different Project Kits I periodically release. Not only will you continue to get gift cards and gift bags in each Project Kit, but I make it a priority to include more than one jewelry item, so you’re always encouraged to make a piece and gift it with intention.
I hope that all of these elements come across when you open your kit. I hope you feel the heart behind it. It’s not just another stamp kit. It’s a stamping experience designed to share the art of giving with you as you create for others in your life.
I have LOVED sharing this with you and I am so grateful that so many of you have shared your stamping experiences with me! Thank you so much for believing in this kit and trying to stamp! Thank you for blessing your loved ones with the gift of stamping. It’s my honor to be a small part of that!
Until next time,
