Feels like a good day for a #throwbackthursday❤️

Missing my Tennessee family deeply as my sweet Memaw went to be with Jesus yesterday. I’m so grateful for the visits I had with her the last two years and that last hug when I said goodbye. 💗
.
I made this cuff five years ago and sent one to each of my sisters in Tennessee as a way to let them know that although we were miles apart, our hearts were connected.
.
That feels especially true today.

I’m glad I said yes.

I’ve spoken those words to friends a lot in the last five years. Glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. Glad I tried new scary things. Glad I got to meet new people.
.
I have heard some of the greatest stories and seen God move in some amazing ways when I’m right in the middle of those scary places.
.
Don’t let the fear of a conversation, a stage,a mic, or an event keep you from saying yes.
.
On the other side of your yes is the very person God wants to reach through you💗

Happy 4th Book Birthday to “Brothers Make the Best Friends”

Stepping out of my comfort zone to publish this book has been one of the greatest experiences of my whole life.
.
I have witnessed God use this little book in so many ways. In the friend whose relationship with their brother was on the rocks, to siblings reading it and remembering what a gift it is to have each other.
.
I’ve seen him show up at book signings in the tears of a woman who’s brother also died by suicide and she cried because she hadn’t met anybody else who’d suffered the same loss.
.
I share these stories to simply encourage you. Those comfort zones feel safe because...well....they’re comfortable.
.
But beautiful things happen outside that comfort zone. And you can be confident that although it may feel scary, it will be so so worth it.
.

Most of us are navigating new schooling this year

Most of us are navigating new schooling this year whether it’s distance learning, hybrid learning, or homeschooling. So many changes!
.
We are no different over here as we’ve jumped into homeschooling! We’ve been at it now for four weeks and we’re enjoying it! Some days are challenging of course but for the most part it’s fun ☺️
.
This week we got out of the house and did a nature study in the desert. We used a field guide to identify the cactus and even found coyote poop 🤣 which the kids were really excited about.
.
I’ll show ya their journals later today in stories. It wasn’t fancy and it wasn’t planned but they learned!
.
No matter what school looks like for you, I hope you can enjoy those not planned teachable moments💗
