It’s the 20th anniversary of my 18th birthday today 😂 and it made me think.

What would I tell my 18 year old self?

It’s been so long it’s hard to remember and maybe 38 year old brains aren’t quite as coherent but here’s what I got:

▫️God is real.

▫️Your worth isn’t found in your appearance. Or men. Or the scale. Or your friends. It’s found in Christ alone.

▫️Everything you think you want. You’ll actually get. And then realize it’s not what you want at all.

▫️Vegetables are yummy. Just try them.

▫️Chasing happiness is dumb. Just don’t do it. Be grateful and practice contentment instead.

▫️God really does have something far greater planned for you than you could ever plan for yourself. Trust Him.

So that’s my list...although I’m sure I’m forgetting some!

We’re gonna be hitting the road and there’s a lot of excitement but also nervousness. We’ve never done a long road trip as a family but also Joe and I have never done a long road trip ever. Even as kids!

If you have road tripped what would you tell us rookies??

We have ALL THE SNACKS. An insane amount of snacks actually but are there any other tips we should remember? Like-Be ready for plans to change 😂 Because we haven’t even left and they already did.

So all you experienced long distance travelers lay it on me! What do we need to remember?
